2026 Propositions & Sample Ballots
Turn it Over Ulster County!
For the November 3, 2026 General Election some Ulster County communities will include propositions located on the back of their ballot. Please remember to turn it over and vote both sides of your ballot. Below is a summary of each question:

TOWN OF GARDINER PROPOSITION:
“Shall the annual contribution of the Town of Gardiner for the operating budget of the Gardiner Library be increased by Thirty-Two Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy-Four ($32,374.00) Dollars, to the sum of Three Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand, One Hundred Forty ($356,140.00) Dollars annually?”

TOWN OF MARBLETOWN PROPOSITION:
“Shall the Town of Marbletown abolish the elective office of Superintendent of Highways and authorize the Town Board to create a Department of Public Works, to be administered by a Commissioner of Public Works appointed by the Town Board, who shall assume the powers and duties previously vested in the Superintendent of Highways, together with such additional duties as may be assigned by the Town Board?”

MARLBOROUGH TOWN PROPOSITION:
SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH FOR THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE SARAH HULL HALLOCK FREE LIBRARY BE INCREASED BY NINETEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS ($19,866) TO THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS ($218,526) ANNUALLY?

“SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF NEW PALTZ PROVIDED IN ITS BUDGET FOR THE ELTING MEMORIAL LIBRARY, A FREE ASSOCIATION LIBRARY, LOCATED AT NEW PALTZ, NEW YORK, BE INCREASED BY FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHTY ($59,080) DOLLARS ANNUALLY TO NINE HUNDRED THREE THOUSAND EIGHTY ($903,080) DOLLARS ANNUALLY”

OLIVE TOWN PROPOSITION:
“Shall the annual contribution of the Town of Olive for the operating budget of the Olive Free Library Association be increased from $289,642 annually to $297,752 annually?”

SHANDAKEN TOWN PROPOSITION:
“Shall the Town of Shandaken increase its annual contribution for the operating budget of the Morton Memorial Library by seven thousand one hundred ninety-eight ($7,198) dollars to the sum of eighty-seven thousand one hundred seventy-three ($87,173) dollars annually; and shall the Town of Shandaken increase its annual contribution for the operating budget of the Phoenicia Library by eleven thousand seven hundred twenty-five ($11,725) dollars to the sum of two hundred forty-six thousand two hundred twenty-five ($246,225) dollars annually?”

WAWARSING TOWN PROPOSITION:
SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF WAWARSING FOR THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE CRAGSMOOR FREE LIBRARY BE ESTABLISHED IN THE AMOUNT OF NINTY-NINE THOUSAND ($99,000) DOLLARS ANNUALLY?

Ulster County Sample Ballots are grouped together by sheet number and ballots styles by City Ward/Town. Note that each ballot style is two pages to reflect both the candidates for office on side 1 and the propositions on side 2.
If you are unsure of your election district you may check that here. The election district is listed on the left hand side of the sample ballot, i.e. County of Ulster ED: City of Kingston Ward 1-Dist. 1. All ballots are two sided, remember to view both sides of the ballot. One side contains all public offices that list eligible candidates, the other side contains all ballot propositions.
