Turn it Over Ulster County!
For the November 5, 2024 General Election every Ulster County Ballot will include propositions located on the back. Please remember to turn it over and vote both sides of your ballot. Below is a summary of each question:

(New York State) PROPOSAL NUMBER ONE, AN AMENDMENT
Amendment to Protect Against Unequal Treatment
This proposal would protect against unequal treatment based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity and pregnancy. It also protects against unequal treatment based on reproductive healthcare and autonomy.
A “YES” vote puts these protections in the New York State Constitution.
A “NO” vote leaves these protections out of the State Constitution.

(Ulster County) PROPOSAL NUMBER TWO, AN AMENDMENT
“Shall the amendments to the Ulster County Charter approved by the Ulster County Legislature as Proposed Local Law #17 of 2023, which include revised Charter language and additions recommended by the Ulster County Charter Revision Commission, be adopted and become part of the Ulster County Charter?”

(Ulster County) PROPOSAL NUMBER THREE, AN AMENDMENT
“Shall the amendment to the Ulster County Charter approved as Proposed Local Law #9 of 2023, providing greater transparency and public awareness and participation when filling a vacancy in the Ulster County Legislature, be adopted and become part of the Ulster County Charter?”

CITY OF KINGSTON PROPOSITION:
“SHALL THE LOCAL LAW ENTITLED “LOCAL LAW 10 OF 2024 OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KINGSTON, NEW YORK, TO CREATE THE CLEAN WATER, URBAN AGRICULTURE, HISTORIC RESOURCES, RECREATION AND NATURAL AREAS PRESERVATION FUND” CREATING A TAX, IN THE AMOUNT OF 1.25% ON THE CONVEYENCE OF INTERESTS IN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF KINGSTON, WITH THE REVENUES FROM THIS TAX TO BE DEPOSITED IN THE CITY OF KINGSTON COMMUNITY PRESERVATION FUND BE APPROVED?”

GARDINER TOWN PROPOSITION:
“Shall the annual contribution of the Town of Gardiner for the operating budget of the Gardiner Library be increased by Twenty-Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-Four ($29,434.00) Dollars, to the sum of Three Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand, seven Hundred and Sixty-Five ($323,765.00) Dollars annually?”

MARLBOROUGH TOWN PROPOSITION:
SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH FOR THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE SARAH HULL HALLOCK FREE LIBRARY BE INCREASED BY NINETY-FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY ($9,460.00) DOLLARS TO THE SUM OF ONE ONE HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY ($198,660) DOLLARS ANNUALLY?”

NEW PALTZ TOWN PROPOSITION:
“SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF NEW PALTZ PROVIDED IN ITS BUDGET FOR THE ELTING MEMORIAL LIBRARY, A FREE ASSOCIATION LIBRARY, LOCATED IN NEW PALTZ, NEW YORK, BE INCREASED BY FORTY EIGHT THOUSAND ($48,000) DOLLARS ANNUALLY TO SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY NINE THOUSAND ($769,000) DOLLARS ANNUALLY?”

“SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF OLIVE FOR THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE OLIVE FREE LIBRARY ASSOCIATION BE INCREASED FROM THE SUM ONE HUNDRED SIXTY EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY TWO($168,142.00) TO ONE HUNDRED NINETY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY TWO ($193,142.00) ANNUALLY?”

All ballots are two sided, remember to view both sides of the ballot. One side contains all public offices that list eligible candidates, the other side contains all ballot propositions.
